With the approaching 100th Anniversary of the famed Adirondack Mountain Club, Executive Director Michael Barrett will discuss the accomplishments for Adirondack conservation and land preservation which were driven by this important non-profit membership organization. For those who appreciate the preservation of the Adirondacks, it is the AMC we have to thank in many ways! Mr. Barrett will discuss the environmental advocacy which makes the group effective in order to protect public land holdings from commercial development for future generations.

Sarah Hulbert of Disability Rights of New York will be presenting an informational webinar on Monday, July 19th at 2:30 PM. Below is an Overview of the webinar:

Overview of Topics to Cover During Library Outreach:

 What is Disability Rights New York and what do we do as an organization?
 What is the CAP program (Client Assistance program) and what can we do to assist
consumers?
 What is ACCES-VR (Adult Continuing Career & Educational Services Vocational
Rehabilitation)?
 What is NYSCB (New York State Commission for the Blind) and what services do they
offer that are similar/different to ACCES-VR services?
 How can someone apply for ACCES-VR services?
o Show an example of an application and provide copies to consumers, if they are
interested
o Help those interested in applying fill out their applications or set an appointment
with Sarah Hulbert to do so
 CAP’s role in assisting consumers if they are facing issues with ACCES-VR
o CAP services or Due Process is always an option for someone if they are not
satisfied with ACCES-VR services
